The Menekaunee Park and Harbor could be getting another upgrade.

Menekaunee Project 1
At last weeks, City of Marinette City Council Meeting the board approved the agreement to pay seven-thousand-dollars for Ayers Associates to write and apply for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Knowles Stewardship grant for a trail connection from the North side of the Menekaunee Harbor to the South.

City Engineer, Brian Miller says there are difficulties right now getting from the Southside to the new parkway when using the City sidewalk.

Miller says they are envisioning a steel footbridge to connect the North and South walkways.

Also approved for the Menekaunee Harbor is the Outdoor Recreation Aids Grant from the Wisconsin DNR for the Harbor Docks and Restroom Facilities for over $440,000.
