A little after 4 a.m. this morning, Lee Ann Marie Wilmoth and the man who held her captive for over four-days, Eric Scott Ruska were located at a gas station in Alger County.
Michigan State Police Troopers observed Ruska’s vehicle and approached making contact with Ruska and Wilmoth. It was at that time the troopers determined Wilmoth was being held against her will. Ruska was then placed under arrest…he is currently being held by the Michigan State Police detectives. Wilmoth was transported for evaluation.
Search efforts for the pair began Monday morning after they did not return from a fishing trip on Chicago Lake. Investigators feared Ruska would harm Wilmoth because he has a criminal history. Details on Wilmoth's condition is not available at this time, but she is alive, and Ruska is in custody.
