Sunday’s storm swamped local law enforcement and emergency responders.

At Tuesday afternoon’s Marinette County Law Enforcement Committee meeting, the committee received an update from Marinette County Emergency Management about the storm that thrashed through the County Sunday afternoon. Emergency Management Director Eric Burmeister says the initial damage assessment paints a very clear story of what happened.

Burmeister says after speaking with the National Weather Service the storm did NOT appear to be a tornado.

Marinette County Emergency Management estimates that at the majority of residents and business will have power by sometime tomorrow. However, due to last night’s storms rolling through it has caused even more outages and possibility of a longer delay in restoring services.
