Larger watercraft will soon be moving about in the Menekaunee Harbor. Tuesday, Marinette’s Public Works committee held a special meeting to approved an amended agreement with originally established with AYRES Associates in 2015. City Engineer Brian Miller says the amendment allows AYRES to begin design work for two additional transient docks funded largely by a Wisconsin D-N-R Boating Infrastructure Grant.
The total amount of the grant project is estimated to cost just under 23-thousand dollars and Marinette’s share of the work would come from 2018 TIF district 3 funds. The Public Works committee forwarded the amendment on to the city’s full common council, which was ultimately approved later the same evening. (Written by Amber Myszka)
