At this week’s, City of Menominee Public Safety – Public Works committee meeting the committee discussed the Fireworks displays that are scheduled for this summer. First, they discussed the newly formed partnership with the City of Marinette and their five-thousand-dollar contribution towards the Fourth of July fireworks, and while both communities have questions as to where they will be held, Menominee City Manager, Tony Graff, stated that Menominee and Marinette will hold a joint council meeting to discuss the future of the Fireworks, but for this year everything will remain the same. Secondly, was the consideration of obtaining a permit for the annual Waterfront Festival Fireworks and little discussion was needed for the already budgeted fireworks. Both events were universally approved by the committee and it now moves forward to council for final approval.
