At a Wednesday evening meeting of the Brown County Board the board voted against the proposed sulfide mine. Brown County District 1 Supervisor Tom Sieber says Brown County is taking all of the risk.
District 5 Supervisor Staush Gruszynski says in Wisconsin you have to show the one of the mines hasn’t polluted in the past ten years.
The Brown County Board voted against the proposed sulfide mine with a vote of 21 to zero with two abstentions and three absences. Next week Tuesday, June 27th at nine a.m. the Door County Board of Supervisors will be addressing the Back Forty Mine.
