Flying the friendly skies could be no more with the Menominee County Airport.

menominee airport
Big decisions are ahead of the Menominee County Board after last night’s board meeting when commissioner Larry Schei addressed the board with financial documentation and what the future direction of the airport really means for the tax payers in the community.

Schei says, once they lost their sponsorship all grandfathering for the airport through the F-A-A and M-DOT AERO was lost.

Schei says there’s no economic development dollars being budgeted for the airport.

The County Board must decide and vote whether or not they want to continue operating as a County Airport. But first, they must hold a special board meeting for public input which is scheduled for Tuesday, May 23rd at 5 p.m. at the Menominee County Courthouse.
